When wall treatments, Alisha observes that while “Wallpaper has definitely had a comeback,” contemporary designs use wallpaper “in a totally different way.” This approach can range from using wallpaper in select, small areas to utilizing textural and/or patterned designs in a big way to create an unexpected wow factor. asked about Alisha explains, “It can go on all the walls and just be a really, really soft, subtle texture—where maybe from far away you don't see it, but then you get up close to the wall and you start appreciating that there's a whole other texture in the room. So, wallpaper is definitely a wall material that we are using a lot.” Other popular wall treatments include classic tongue-and- groove wood paneling or shiplap, a modern take on paneling with boards that overlap, stone, tile, or painted walls. Using paint is a common way to create a display wall as you can choose from any number of colors and finishes to create an impactful design cost- effectively.
