RESOLUTION: Declutter

1-Hour Junk Drawer Challenge Pretty much everyone has a junk drawer or a similar catch- all spot. If you’re like many of us, you might even have more than one. While it’s nice to have a few random everyday items readily available, the junk drawer quickly turns into the holding zone for everything you don’t know where to put. Keep the junk drawer, but if yours is overflowing, try our tips for maintaining organization so it’s useful.

Resolved to declutter and really get organized this year? Our experts suggest starting small. By tackling one small, manageable task like a single cabinet, bookcase, or drawer, you will build momentum for the larger projects like a closet or the attic or garage. What about that overflowing junk drawer? Try the Junk Drawer Challenge and you’ll be able to check at least one (tiny) space off your decluttering list in just one hour!

Grab your kitchen timer and give yourself 15 minutes for each of the following 4 steps. In an hour (or less, if you’re an overachiever), you’ll have a neat and tidy drawer and the momentum to tackle your next decluttering spot.
